A Family of Senior Angels!

Last April, Ronica Newton joined the Senior Angels team and became one of our regular mailings volunteers.  The mailing volunteers get together the first and last Tuesday of every month to help organize and send out important information to Meals on Wheels Clients and fellow volunteers.  They create and sort packets, fold calendars, label envelopes and prepare an incredible number of marketing pieces to be mailed.  Their work saves our office dozens of hours each month, and for a non-profit, this makes a huge impact.  The mailings volunteers also come in for impromptu mailings, recently helping stuff 5K race packets, save-the-dates, and invitations for the upcoming fundraising auction in August.

Well, after a month or so, Veronica decided to bring her daughter, Helen. And after a few more weeks, she brought her son, Hakeem along too!  And now the three of them come regularly helping each and every time we have a mailing opportunity.  It has become a family affair.  “We really like helping out and visiting with Petunia (the office cat).  Everyone is very friendly here and we have a good time,” says Ronica.

On behalf of Senior Citizens, Inc., thank you Veronica, Helen, and Hakeem for your dedication and effort!  And of course, thank you to all the mailings volunteers for the time and work you donate every month!  You truly make a difference.
