Last month, eleven students from Auburn University spent a week of their winter break with Senior Citizens, Inc. The students were a tremendous help! On the first morning they arrived, the students braved the rain and the unfamiliar roads of Savannah, and delivered Meals on Wheels with smiles on their faces. In preparation for the holidays, they made ornaments with clients at RBADC and helped to put up decorations. They also visited the Thunderbolt activity center and created beautiful cards with the seniors there. These cards were then delivered to Meals on Wheels clients to spread some extra holiday cheer. The students visited the Port Wentworth center as well and spent a morning baking cookies with the seniors. The next day, they returned to help out with the event, “Cookies for Cops”, handing out the baked goods to local law enforcement officers. At the end of the week, the students performed “All I Want for Christmas” to RBADC, and the clients absolutely loved it!
Thank you so much to these students for making a difference!
